Special Off Season Productions for '08-'09
For those who love the classics or would like to be involved
but haven't time for full rehearsal schedules, Reader's
Theatre is being introduced. The three show series
will comprise some Moliere favorites; The Misanthrope, The
Miser, and Tartuffe. Tickets will be sold as
general admission with discounts to members.
Pierre Players is also announcing a special Studio Series
featuring Don Boyd and Donna Fjelstad. Boyd and Fjelstad
will reprise three plays from their past; On Golden Pond,
Love Letters, and The Gin Game. Proceeds
from the shows, which will be sold individually and billed as
fundraisers, will go to Pierre Players for equipment upgrades,
rent and increasing production costs.
And if that is not enough Pierre Players stage at the Grand
Opera House will debut Return to Houdek! Pierre
Riggs alumni Pat Baker and Tom Valentine, with family and
friends, perform a concert of original songs inspired by South
Dakota. Both have performed in a variety of bands in the
Twin Cities area and have appeared on several independent albums
produced there. Written in the Americana and Roots Rock
style, the songs' origins will be explained in the
"storytellers" tradition. The concert will show on October
10th and 11th. Doors will open at 7 PM, general admission,
$10 per person.
